My turn on the receiving end....
Blessed to have my brother and electricity free colleague Durga @durgatattoo adding more Mentawai patterns to the fusion lower body project we started last year. Still acwats to go on this leg and then the other yet but it is evolving organically in an amazing way and tag teaming with a few artists means it is growing in surprising and spontaneous twists and turns.🌴
Thank you Durga as always for your friendship, laughter, generosity, energy and talent.🌴
Grateful also for my soul mate Sean @seanvasquezdesigns for stretching and being there for moral support and comforting energy. 🌵
Shins and knees are tough painwise and my claustrophobia and fidgetyness are always a struggle when I'm literally pinned to the floor. But i take this opportunity to immerse myself in the ritual and go with the flow, learning each time how to find stillness. I go to my dark places to find my light through the immobility and pain...and tap (no pun intended) into my inner strength and peace ..my two brothers, the pain and the tapping tools as guides.🐾
If you are tempted to get something even small...message Durga through his IG above or the studio @artefactotattoo as he has a bit of time here in London and at the Brighton Tattoo Convention @brightontattoocon this weekend! 🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴
Here’s me triumphant after completing this 40+ hour mural in Hawaii, the day before I was due to fly off the Big Island, circa 2001. 🌴 This mural stretched me in unbelievable ways, and took such focus to complete~ But I poured my soul into it & savored each moment of dancing huge across that expanse of space. 🌞 The Islands have been calling to me so strongly this past week~ It’s been 17 years since I left (after living there at a yoga retreat center for 6 months) Dreaming of returning... 🐬
