I always ask couples what they want to remember about their lives right now, 20 years from now. Most of them say that they want to remember how it feels to love each other. How everything feels so easy and full and sweet in the beginning.
But love is funny, isn’t it? One day it leaves us with butterflies wondering how we got so lucky to deserve it, and then quicker than we wish, the butterflies are gone. Loving another isn’t easy.
If I could tell all of my sweet, newly engaged couples anything, it would be this: That love takes work. There are some days where love feels like a perfect spring day—beautiful, easy to enjoy, peaceful. And then there are days where the clouds roll in and you just don’t want to go outside. You don’t want to face the rain. Life makes love feel harder. The stresses of the world will pour down and make everything just feel awful. You’ll each change as life moves on. You’ll face disappointment and tragedy, worry and loss, burdens and fear...
But when it happens, when love feels too hard, remember this: you have each other. In the end, love conquers all. And if you really believe that, that by loving each other you can conquer anything, then you really will conquer anything. And soon enough you’ll feel the butterflies again. ❤️
Starting and running a business is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things I’ve ever done.
There are times that are incredibly fulfilling and energizing, while other times that leave you wondering whether you’ve made one big mistake. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to most of the problems that arise, and growing pains can be tough to handle. It often feels like one big life-sized game of Whac-A-Mole - trying to keep everything together and on track.
Tonight, though, I am reminded of everyone who has and continues to support Bricker & Beam, and I am overwhelmed with appreciation for all of you. We’re truly grateful that you choose to spend your money on furniture that we’ve made, and we never want to take that for granted.
So in short, thanks for being awesome. 🙏🏼🍻
We just need to admit to y’all that Pinot Noir is our favorite red varietal by many miles but we’re only truly wowed by a handful of them. This Pinot is one of them.
From the San Andreas Fault comes this @hirschvineyards Pinot Noir. The wine itself reminds us of a ripe Nuits St. Georges from Burgundy, but with even more dimensions to It. Try it out for yourself! You can’t miss this.
