I woke up to what felt like wetness in the sleeping bag. *I'm not sweating that much!!* *Did I fkn piss myself??* It was only when I opened my eyes and lifted my shoulder to sit up did I feel my sleeping pad start moving and I realized: holy shit I'm floating in the tent.
I was so caught off guard and shocked I looked out the window real quick to make sure I didn't get swept down the river. *All good we're still here*
All my bags, food, and my copy of "Kiss or Kill" were bobbing and floating around me in the tent. *My camera!!!*
I reached over to the corner of the tent, stuck my whole hand in the brown, muddy water, and pulled my @nikonusa D750 out of the water- completely submerged, for who knows how long. I held it in the air and water poured out... *wow*
I turned it on and it worked- so I took the battery/ cards out, and left it in the sun to air out.
When I got to Vail for the @gopro Mountain Games about 8 hours later, I pulled it out and it was completely dead. I continued to leave it out to dry, and tried it with all my different batteries for 4 days: nothing. Good thing I have insurance... but still such a bummer.
When I got back to LA 4 days later, I was sitting in my room pissed about having to call and make a claim in the morning, and I said fck it one last hail mary- popped a battery in- and IT LIVES. What a tank. So stoked. @cotopaxi
