A magical all-in-one vocal plugin? CLA Vocals is a must-have.
I have been shying away from these ‘be-all-end-all’, ‘does-everything’, ‘too-good-to-be-true’ plugins, and CLA signature series have been one of them. Like many others, I often find these plugins underwhelming and don’t deliver the result they promise. Well, CLA Vocals has made me reconsider my thought toward these plugins.
First of all, the plugin applies a sonic character even with default setting, but to my ears it makes the vocals more polished already. The chosen frequency for low and high end shaping are spectacular, and the lack of metering leaves you with the courage to crank it until it sounds good. The different flavors of the compressor also works amazingly. The reverb and delay session give you a quick and easy way to dial in some polished ambience around the vocals. Last but not least, the widener can really make your vocals sound bigger than life without any unnatural artifact.
Still I use individual plugins to hone in and process individual vocals, but the CLA Vocals sits on my vocal bus pretty confidently and makes all the individual processing much easier. I’m truly amazed by this one!
Not much to see here, first day trying to make the #octatrack do something. Starting off easy with 3 flex machines, sample slot lists, short loops and effects. Got kind of side tracked by the comb filter on the pad. I can see the leds reading the #digitakt inputs on C and D and recorded them but I don’t know where they’ve gone atm. Next I need to learn how to put those Digitakt inputs straight to the main output, have the octatrack sounds, find the recordings and then onto Static machines.
