Had a very good conversation today with the coach @nickkomodina .. hard work trumps genetics friends, and he reassured me of that.
I will say I do believe I’m a pretty hard gainer genetically, and I’ve always been hard on myself for that. But I don’t let that be an excuse. -
Just about near cried at my gym session today with nick and @emburke95 (ps wish my girl a happy bday okay). I REFUSE to miss a rep, I only bump my weight down if form will be compensated, and I will make ugly faces if it means full ROM😂
Point is here, we’re all capable no matter what. Work you’re ass off if you want it.
After a quick SoulCycle ride, I stopped to refuel at @projectjuice and got some avocado toast with their strawberry smoothie😋 It is SO important to be eating something before and after you workout. Your body needs something to breakdown to use as energy for whatever activity you are going to do (and it doesn’t have to be a huge meal, but it does have to be something!). After your workout, your body needs to repair your muscles 💪🏻 Fun fact about that: when you workout, you get little tears in your muscles, so your body needs a way to repair them. It uses the fuel you give it after your workout to fix them😊 Way cool right?💁🏻♀️ There is this idea that you can’t eat before your workout because then you won’t burn anything, but without fuel, your body won’t be able to workout at its best. If you don’t eat after, your body never repairs your muscles, so you feel sore and can’t become stronger... So, the solution?🤷🏻♀️ FUEL UP!!! Anyway, sorry for the short PSA. I’ve seen a bunch of posts (that I don’t want to see🙄) about skipping meals before and after working out which is utter BS😡 So, with that in mind, go eat some yummy food. Give diet culture and “bikini body” workouts the middle finger. And life your damn life👊🏻
This hummus is everything I’ve ever wanted and more omg 😍 I’ve never really been a hummus person. As someone with an ED, spreads have always been something that make me a little nervous. I went out on a limb and tried this and OMG I am mad at myself for not trying this sooner! Sandwiches are like 87,000x better with hummus, let me tell you! I’m never going back now. This stuff gets a 10/10 🤤
