My middle son came down with a cough Friday which escalated to a fever over the weekend 🤒 I’m assuming his new molars and him sticking his hands in his mouth all the time had something to do with it 🤔 Thankfully he woke up fever-free this morning, with the majority of his cough gone too 🙏
When any of my boys are under the weather, I try to be consistent with applying oils every 1-3 hours, depending on what protocol I’m using. By doing this, they are almost never sick for more than a day or two. I set timers, whatever I need to do to remember 🕘
The Symphony of the Cells is a great resource for essential oil users to cover a broad range of health concerns. It’s crazy what you can make time or money for when you want something bad enough — and the excuses when you don’t.
I’m not trying to win a championship for busiest person, but if I were— I’d be in the #sweetsixteen . 😜🙃 But, being overly and insanely and constantly with my hands full doesn’t make me special. Nor does it make me unique. Tons of bad-A chicks do exactly what I do daily. Many of them do a hella better job than me, too.
But it does make me qualified to roll my eyes when someone tells me they “really want to” focus on their health and fitness but they “don’t have time,” or “can’t spend money on myself.” 🤚🏼🤚🏼🤚🏼🤚🏼🤚🏼 Think about things you also don’t have time for, but are squeezing in: Watching #thisisus every week? Scrolling FB and IG every morning? The list goes on. And as far as spending goes — how is that $4.75 lattè truly benefiting your health? Or the Target run that results in $12 of what you actually went for, and $75 worth of random things for yourself that you “need?” (Girl- I KNOW I’m not alone with this 🤭🎯) We make sh- happen when it’s something we want. We make excuses when it’s something we don’t- OR something we fear. Bottom line.
And I get it. Talking about time (especially when spent working at a job you need and/or for the family you so deeply love) and money (when you’re drowning in student loan and/or credit card debt) is TOUGH. It’s especially difficult when I’m giving this kind of #toughlove approach — but we all need it. And I’ve BEEN there. You’re looking at the girl who rolled coins and sold clothes to Plato’s Closet just so I could go on Spring Break (when I should have put the money toward my credit card bill). But if you can rationalize the new lip gloss, the new shirt, the daily lattè, overpriced take-out lunch, or whatever it may be — you can EASILY rationalize investing in something that is proven to make you healthier, happier, stronger, more confident, less anxious, and live longer.

REST is so under rated! After a trip to the chiropractor this morning I am going to follow her recommendation to go home and REST. Driving home I thought to myself, in the past I would feel guilty and so choose not to. You know what I mean, whether it be mummy guilt, wife guilt, work guilt, society guilt. But now I see rest and sleep as being so important. It is so true that we only have one body and mind to live in - we really do need to look after it.
So... if you've been burning the candle at both ends, felt stress or fatigue... remember to take time to rest. #clarity
